The Dwaraknath Reddy Ramanarpanam Trust was created in 1996 to preserve the life of a dying, yet beautiful Indian design called Kalamkari, as well as its producers who struggle to survive the oppression of the local caste system. Artisans' passion to carry on the legacy of their cultural art shows in the beauty of their work, their enthusiasm and pride. Artisans earning a fair wage become educated, self-reliant businesswomen, whose monthly income has already grown from 600 to 3,000 rupees!
