Jolom Mayaetik

Jolom Mayaetik was founded in 1996, in response to sharply declining wages and rising costs of living in Mexico-specifically to build economic and political autonomy for indigenous Tsotsil- and Tseltal-speaking Mayan women. Trained in business and weaving, they sew traditional frog and serpent designs to honor the sustainable cultural legacies of the nutrient-rich earth. They are proud leaders in the organization, positively influencing the rights, health and economy of their communities.
