Gone RuralSwazilandFounded in 1992, Gone Rural promotes women's independence, business development and craft skills, with a focus on mitigating the effects of HIV in Swaziland (where 40% of women are infected). Once bound by poverty or forced into the sex trade, these artisans' have built economic self-sufficiency, dignity and confidence. The development branch, "BoMake," offers scholarships for orphans, AIDS workshops, and independence counseling; improving womens' lives and the futures of their families! |
