KMVSKutch, IndiaKMVS, a co-op that includes more than 4,000 rural women from 150 villages in Gujarat's Kutch district, was created to improve the economic conditions of artisans in India forced to abandon traditional skills for factory work. Striving for socio-economic and political empowerment, the group provides their members with support in natural resource management, craft production, education, newsletter publication, screen-printing, health care, savings and credit programs and legal education centers. |
